A senior Catholic Church figure claims Cardinal George Pell knew a convicted paedophile priest was abusing young boys.

Eric Bryant said he had attended a meeting, along with Mr Pell who was
then serving as a priest in the Ballarat area, in 1982 when the issue of
Gerald Ridsdale arose. During the meeting of senior church figures, Fr Bryant told the Herald Sun Ballarat bishop Ronald Mulkearns announced they had 'a problem with homosexuality in the diocese'.
