A Court in Brisbane sentenced a priest,
Francis Brophy, 87, of the Catholic De la Salle Brothers, on Monday, to
eight years behind bars for sexually abusing orphans.
Prosecutors said Brophy sexually abused nine boys at an orphanage
decades ago at a facility in the Queensland town of Beaudesert,
Australia between 1978 and 1983. “Your legacy disgusts me and every right-minded member of society,’’
Brisbane District Court Judge William Everson told Brophy, according to
