Nun jailed in child abuse case

A nun was clinging to liberty this week after a court threw out a request to extend the suspension of a two-year sentence passed down in 2010 for the physical and psychological abuse of children in her care.
Agnieszka F., known by her religious name of Sister Bernadette, is the former director of the Special Education Centre of the Sisters of St. Borromeo in Zabrze, Silesia, where she worked from 1991 to 2007.
