ACT Government looks to remove time limit on sex abuse civil claims, allowing victims to sue institutions

Canberra survivors of institutional child sexual abuse will soon be able to pursue compensation in the courts regardless of when the abuse took place, if legislation to be introduced by the ACT Government passes the assembly.
Attorney-General Simon Corbell will today move to strike out a requirement that victims begin civil proceedings against institutions within six years of turning 18.
