This year marks the 40th anniversary of the formation of the Catholic
Diocese of Orange, and its PR handlers are in full spin mode. Over the
past couple of weeks, they've dangled the continuing transformation of
the former Crystal Cathedral into Christ Cathedral to distract a
gullible press from any real reporting.
The Los Angeles Times basically danced a jig about a virtual reality tour, with the Orange County Register following close behind. But far more offensive was a retrospective by reporter Deepa Bharath on the Orange see's history that allowed retired, pedophile-protecting Bishop Tod D. Brown to gladly lie about his role in letting collared monsters prey on innocent kids.
