Malcolm Turnbull has promised a group of
child abuse victims that “I will not let you down” over plans to
introduce a national, multi-billion-dollar redress scheme proposed by a
royal commission.
The commitment, made during a private
meeting on Thursday, came a day after the Senate called on the Coalition
government to “commit meaningfully” to the proposal, recommended by the
Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse a
