Number of people joining Catholic church down, "but it could be worse..."

The number of people in the Catholic Church has declined world-wide as reports of sexual abuse of children by preists and laypeople shakes many communities, including Erie. Despite this, more than 150 people in Erie alone are seeking to join the church this year. "It could be worse," says Sister Nancy Fischer. She is the RCIA Process Coordinator for the Erie Diocese. (RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults).
