More than 30 victims now say they were abused by a Catholic priest known by students as “Father Pervert,” “The Pig” and “Lurch.”
Attorney Mitchell Garabedian says he is representing 34 women and one man who allege they were sexually abused by the Rev. Adam Prochaski between 1970 and 1994.

Rush on abuse deals before scheme: group

Twenty-year fight for justice for male survivors of sexual abuse continues

An advocate working with male survivors of sexual abuse is still pleading with the Government for a formal inquiry into the abuse of children in state care – 20 years after the campaign was launched.
Over the last two decades, Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse Trust (MSSAT) manager Ken Clearwater has supported over 1000 men who have been sexually abused. The trust's Christchurch branch has seen 30 new clients this year alone.

There needs to be a Royal Commission Inquiry in New Zealand for child abuse and child rape in the catholic church orphanages, state homes, institutions, babies taken away from their mothers and sold by church and state, all religious homes and orphanages, even Salvation Army, and non-religious homes and orphanages throughout New Zealand. Child abuse has gone on far too long and we will only see how much damage it causes with a full inquiry run by a Royal Commission Inquiry into Child Abuse. And not forgetting the children, the teenagers at Lake Alice who were tortured, given electric shock treatment and being used as guinea pigs of different medication. This is why I have called for a New Zealand Royal Commission Inquiry into Child Abuse and Child Rape which should be across the board wherever children were incarcerated.

A senior member of the Catholic Church has thrown his support behind a strengthening bid for a royal commission into child abuse, but will not pledge the same from the institution as a whole.
Bill Kilgallon wants his own church – and all other faith-based institutions – to be included in the Government's inquiry into the abuse of children in state care before 1992.

Cardinal George Pell's legal team requests documents from ABC journalist Louise Milligan, book publisher

Lawyers defending Cardinal George Pell on historical sexual offences have requested documents from ABC journalist Louise Milligan and Melbourne University Press relating to a book about the senior Catholic published last year.

The book written by Milligan called 'Cardinal: the Rise and Fall of George Pell' was voluntarily removed from Victorian bookstores after Cardinal Pell was charged in July. The request for documents was made during a hearing in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.

Bail for former Kiwi priest extradited on sex charges
