They are now 60, 70, and 80 years of age. They were the first wave of
Inuit children who were snatched from their parents by government and
church officials when they were only five, six, and seven years old to
attend residential schools in places like Chesterfield Inlet and Inuvik.
Many of them spent years in these schools with no visits back to their communities and families. Some were sent to southern cities to attend military type of regimental schools for years.
