Emotional Child Abuse

Emotional child abuse is one form of child abuse that includes many factors such as the omission of acts where a parent lacks any meaning participation or interest in the emotional or social development of the child. Although it may not involve physical abuse, it can still be extremely damaging leaving long lasting mental scars. 
It may include the commission of acts such as verbal child abuse.  Emotional abuse is psychological mistreatment that can be characterized as the persistent and chronic debasement of an individual’s feelings causing them to feel inept. It can be done under the guise of advice, guidance, support or teaching.
