The Milwaukee Catholic Archdiocese suffered a major legal defeat Monday in its four-year-old bankruptcy case. A federal appeals court in Chicago ruled that the church must expose
$60 million in cemetery trust funds as a possible source to pay its
creditors -- most claiming they were abused by priests over the last
half-century.
Milwaukee Federal Judge Rudolph Randa ruled in favor of the church -- but the appeals court said he should disclosed that his parents and other relatives are buried in cemeteries maintained by the trust fund.
