Alleged forced adoption: Sydney mother Lynda Yarnold sues St Vincent de Paul and Sisters of Mercy

Yes the catholic church used St. Vincent De Paul... to take babies away from their mothers... in New Zealand as well... I was one of those babies... St. Vincent De Paul... took me away from my mother... at two and half months old... they took me to a catholic church orphanage... from Wellington to Christchurch New Zealand... My mother was still in the catholic church nursing Hospital... for unwed mothers... in the years that I was born... the unwed girls and women... went into these catholic church care home... months before they had their baby... and stayed a few moths after...
In the 1960s St Vincent De Paul... forcible took a baby girl out of the arms... of a friend of mime (Frances )... just after she gave birth to her baby daughter... while she was still in the hospital... this played on Friends mind... for the rest of her life... the mothers had no say... and could not fight the catholic church... St. Vincent De Paul... acted on behalf of the catholic church... in name and their actions... the babies were then put up for adoption... all done in the name of the Lord... and for money... Ann

St Vincent de Paul and the Sisters of Mercy have reached an in principle out-of-court settlement with a Sydney woman who was allegedly forced to put her newborn baby up for adoption and then subjected to "inhumane" treatment such as having her chest bound to prevent breastfeeding.
In a case that has renewed calls for a public, nationwide inquiry into forced adoptions in church and other institutions, Lynda Yarnold says that in late 1970 Sisters of Mercy nuns removed her child from her at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital on Sydney's lower north shore, put it up for adoption and removed it from Australia - all against her will.
