MARIST Brother Francis William Cable – Brother Romuald to his
terrified students at schools in the Hunter and Sydney – had no remorse
for the child sex crimes he committed against 19 boys, a Sydney court
heard on Friday.
Romuald, 82, sat unmoved as men wept while recounting the terror they felt as children, and the horror of living years later with the consequences of being sexually abused. nIn March, Romuald pleaded guilty to multiple offences against 17 boys in the 1960s and 1970s after a jury found him guilty of 13 charges against two boys, including buggery.
