Despite objections that
granting local parishes access to clergy sex abuse claims filed in
bankruptcy court could compromise victims' confidentiality, a federal
judge this week granted the request for expanded access.
The request came from the parish committee as part of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis bankruptcy case, in which abuse victims have filed claims that could result in a settlement, but first will be subject to review and verification.
