THE board of Hobart all-boys private school Hutchins has again
written to former students in the wake of the Royal Commission into
Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, accepting the
commission’s findings and acknowledging the school could have done more
in responding to claims of abuse.
The letter, dated January 13 and also sent to other members of the school community — including parents — fulfilled a promise made by former Hutchins chairman David Morris to report back once the board had considered the commission’s findings.
