Lord Carey of Clifton, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, has said
that he deserves to face personal criticism from the national child
abuse inquiry for his support of a bishop later convicted of indecent
assault, it is understood.
Lord Carey was told last week that he may be subject to “explicit criticism” from the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse because of the way he handled revelations about Peter Ball, then bishop of Gloucester.
