2 steps forward and 1 step back won't cleanse Catholic Church

No. I say... one step forward and two steps back... the Catholic Church has to open her soul and heart.... then do as Jesus would have done... if He were on this earth today... gather His wounded children in His arms... and wash their pain and torment away... by doing this... Jesus, as He has already told the world... about any one harming any of His little ones... Jesus has never once put any child above the rest... as this world has done... all children are equal in Jesus eyes... I saw this so much as a child and I still see it done to children today... until the pope starts to follow in Jesus footsteps... and with Jesus bleeding children of yesterday in his heart and mind... will he get it right... disregard the nuns, priest and bishops... because Jesus has everyone of their names... He has the rope and stone for hurting His little ones... and worst still for all those who covered up the rape and abuse... everyone who harmed Jesus children... will never walk free when they pass this life... Ann.

The essential problem that gave rise to decades of clergy sex abuse in the Roman Catholic Church was that bishops, whose authority over their domains is all but absolute, were too often complicit in enabling pedophile priests, covering up their crimes, and looking the other way as countless young victims were raped, molested, harassed and left scarred for life. Now Pope Francis, grappling with successive waves of scandals and revelations, has decreed elaborate new policies and procedures designed to beat back a scourge that has partly defined his papacy.

When the Catholic Church faces a scandal, this is who the Pope sends in

Pope Francis celebrates Easter Mass in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican, Sunday, April 21, 2019 His missions begin with a phone call from the pope. “Do me a favor,” Pope Francis tends to say, and then Archbishop Charles Scicluna steels himself, packs his bags and books a flight to another country where something terrible has happened.

Pope ordains 19 men to priesthood in St. Peter’s Basilica

Pope Francis ordained 19 men to the priesthood on Sunday in St. Peter’s Basilica. Most of them are Italians, but other seminarians are from Croatia, Peru, Haiti and Japan. Wearing white robes, the seminarians stood in three rows before the central altar after replying, “Here I am,” as their names were called one by one. Francis in a ritual asked if they were worthy to become priests.

The leader of Poland's governing right-wing party vowed Sunday to crack down on child sex abuse as an in-depth documentary on paedophilia among Polish priests went viral in the Catholic country.
"Those to whom children have been entrusted will be especially severely punished (for sex abuse), and this applies to priests, of course, but also to all including... well-known celebrities," Law and Justice (PiS) party leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski was quoted by Polish media as saying.

Guam priests' child sexual abuses would have remained a dark secret were it not for 1 man

Back when no one dared to publicly accuse any Guam priest, much less the archbishop, of sexually abusing a child, former Agat resident John Toves did so in 2014. It was about 12 years after the Archdiocese of Boston's sex abuse scandal exposed widespread wrongdoing in the American Roman Catholic Church.

Clergy: An uncompromising film about the hypocrisy and corruption of the Catholic Church in Poland

Clergy, the new film from director Wojciech Smarzowski, reaffirms his place as one of Poland’s leading directors. His 2016 film Hatred (Wolyn), dealing with a traumatic event in Polish-Ukrainian history, stirred up controversy and attracted a wide audience in Poland. In fact, the criminal activities addressed in the film realistically reflect the deeply reactionary role of the Catholic Church in Poland.
