Clergy: An uncompromising film about the hypocrisy and corruption of the Catholic Church in Poland

Clergy, the new film from director Wojciech Smarzowski, reaffirms his place as one of Poland’s leading directors. His 2016 film Hatred (Wolyn), dealing with a traumatic event in Polish-Ukrainian history, stirred up controversy and attracted a wide audience in Poland. In fact, the criminal activities addressed in the film realistically reflect the deeply reactionary role of the Catholic Church in Poland.
