Two news items reveal how intransigent the Catholic church is in dealing
with its abuse issues. The first follows the development of an
investigative panel on the abuse of children in Ireland. The initial
report was on buried children at Taum.
Church leaders in Galway, western Ireland, have said they had no idea so many children who died at the orphanage had been buried there, and have pledged to support local efforts to mark the spot with a plaque listing all 796 children.
