the Irish people as “worse than pagans” and that they “defied God”.
Burke is the archetypal Catholic bureaucrat scorning the laity of Ireland who – as a nation – has defied big-time the Vatican and its Catholic obsolete doctrines that condemn homosexuals committing same-sex acts as “intrinsically evil”. But the Irish lay people did not “defy God” who created them and who created gay people as well.
