A
prominent New York City charter school network announced on Wednesday
that it was opening an investigation into allegations of sexual
misconduct that occurred more than 10 years ago.
Following a recent precedent set by many private schools, including St. Paul’s School in New Hampshire and Choate Rosemary Hall
in Connecticut, the charter network, KIPP NYC, has hired an outside law
firm to investigate the allegations. KIPP NYC, which is part of a
national network, said the allegations did not involve any current
students or staff members.
