Gov. Nathan Deal signs the Georgia Hidden Predator Act into law, allowing seven former students to sue karate instructor Craig Peeples for alleged sexual abuse.
In a landmark development involving child sex abuse cases, seven men were able to file a civil lawsuit Thursday in Georgia Superior Court against karate instructor Craig Peeples under the recently passed Georgia Hidden Predator Act.
The men were previously stonewalled due to the state’s sex abuse statute of limitations laws. Marci Hamilton, one of the nation’s leading experts on child abuse cases and a Benjamin N. Cardozo law professor, announced the lawsuit with six of the seven plaintiffs present at a press conference in Jacksonville, Fla.
