Paedophiles could be chemically castrated under Australian plan

No They can not have one... or the other for rape... I was delighted when I started reading this... until I was let down further down the page... The task force will look at... whether it could be considered... as a sentencing option... for judges in state courts... as an alternative to prison... They need to sever time in prison as well... or it will have no meaning for the survivors... or the abusers... as they will right away rape another child... as soon as they are out... of court... you may as well hand out... condoms to them as they leave the courtroom... 

it is like the catholic church confessions... Go sin no more... your sins are forgiven... pedophiles of children... will be laughing about this... the courts will be letting the children... walk right into their hands... The courts can not give the sex abusers an option.. the pill... or jail... the victim/survivors... will be looked down upon even worse... I for one will fight this... if it should ever come to New Zealand... gosh we can play this out on the monopoly  Board... go past jail... and get a lollie on the way out... and a child to rape for free... An Australian state police taskforce is considering using anti-libido drugs to chemically castrate child sex offenders. The group in New South Wales is made up of representatives from Government, victims groups such as Bravehearts, police, legal and health experts.
The drugs are already used on a voluntary basis in the state’s prison system and the taskforce will look at whether it could be considered as a sentencing option for judges in state courts as an alternative to prison.
