Father Richard Gorman, known for years of activism throughout the Bronx,
is denying allegations he sexually abused minors about 30 years ago,
according to his lawyer. Murray Richmond said charges made public last week through an Archdiocese of New York press release are completely false.
In the Jan. 21 statement, which did not go into detail about the allegations, the archdiocese said Fr. Gorman would not be permitted “to publicly function as a priest,” including as director of prison chaplains for the archdiocese.
