Clergy-abuse survivor feels she cannot ignore the headlines

there is always something out there which bring it all back... mostly is how people talk down to you... and treat you as if you should not be alive... the best thing is not to have anything to do with those people... Sexual abuse and abuse has a very big part of my life... they tell me that it gets better... BUT IT WILL NOT GO AWAY...
The only way I can do anything about child abuse and child rape... is to bring it right into the eyes of the people of this world... children are still being raped and abused today... and with the world being silent about it... it is hidden from sight... WAKE UP WORLD... SEE... HEAR AND FEEL... the cries and pain of the innocent abused children... by talking about it... you just might be able to save one child from being abused or raped... be the ears and voice of the abused children... help to save them from the hell... which the children are put through every day and night... just think of how many people are here on face-book... you can save the lives of millions of children by being their voice...  Ann

MY silence has been disturbing me. It’s a familiar reaction for survivors like me. But I can’t keep silent any longer. Silence keeps things in darkness and prevents us from seeing clearly in the light of day.
I don’t have the right to speak for or against Seattle Mayor Ed Murray or the man, Delvonn Heckard, who has accused the mayor of raping him as a teen. Nor do I want to. However, I do have the right and responsibility to speak for myself, as a survivor of sexual abuse, and possibly for other survivors who have been sexually violated.
