An 85-year-old man is in custody after a jury found him guilty of
historical sexual offending, including two charges of rape, against six
girls. Murray Kannewischer walked to the dock with the aid of a
walking stick before the guilty verdicts were returned in the Dunedin
District Court on Friday.
He was found guilty of 21 historical sex charges, including two counts of rape, and remanded in custody. The former Dunedin man denied abusing six girls between 1963 and 1983, prompting a five-day trial, which ended on Friday evening.
