Catholic issues blogger and businessman Tim Rohr weighed in on the Vatican's verdict in Archbishop Anthony S. Apuron's canonical trial, the Neocatechumenal Way, and what he described as Guam's "culture of silence" that he said could help explain the island's high rates of suicide, child maltreatment, and clergy sex abuse of children.
"What's going on in our families?" he asked Rotary Club of Northern Guam members Wednesday at Hilton Guam Resort and Spa. "Beneath the surface of our self-congratulations about what a wonderful family culture we are, everybody knows, everybody does know. It's just that nobody wants to talk about it."
