Dioceses rocked by grand jury report

4 More than a decade after The Boston Globe’s bombshell reporting on sexual abuse within the Catholic Chury, a statewide grand jury report stated 1,000 children — and possibly many more — were molested by hundreds of predator Roman Catholic priests in six Pennsylvania dioceses. The grand jury report, released in August, found evidence that at least 301 predator priests abused the children, but were protected from prosecution by a “sophisticated” cover-up effort by senior church officials in Pennsylvania.
