This is so true... I was taken back to nazareth house... every time I
ran away to the police for help... I was always taken back to my
abusers... and each time I was striped naked across the bed... both my
hands and feet... tied to each end of the bed... and whipped... this was
done by the nuns... always three of them... then to be told... to knell
down and apologize to them... I could not move... let alone know... why
they thrashed me like this... most nights across the bed... they were
evil witches... yes, nuns... women... and the older girls... raped us
children... boys and girls as well as the priest did to us... Ann

Adults abused as children while staying in orphanages, children's homes,
foster care and other care institutions have launched a campaign for a
nationwide apology from police. Support group CLAN (Care Leavers Australasia Network)
held a protest outside Victoria Police headquarters on Tuesday,
claiming police failed to act on, or consider, reports of abuse made by
children in care."When children did try to tell the authorities, they weren't believed," CLAN co-founder Leonie Sheedy said. They group also say children who ran away from the institutions would be returned straight back to where they were being abused.
